What's Your Motive?

Have you ever wonder why you did certain things or act a certain way towards someone and got a response you didn't like? Every personality

type is associated with a specific color or groups of colors combined that determine what a person core motive is. A person core motive is what defines them as a person, it shows a person attributes and interest. Motive is what causes a person to act a certain way in different situations. The color code personality profile created by Dr. Hartman divides personalities into four different color groups. The purpose of Hartman's profile is to help a person identify with a color which helps in building self-awareness.

Hartman is the doctor who created a successful program that asks personality profile questions from his questionnaire, to determine what color a person is associated with (Hartman). This program was first developed in 1987. Hartman's personality profile is a system that asks a pesron different adjectives that describes someone and the person must choose the one that fits them best. It is an online questionnaire of forty five questions that asks questions about you, it's broken down into four different colors that give a person a general idea of what characteristics they have that creates them. Red is a person who has power, Blue is someone that likes intimacy, White is a person who is a peacekeeper, and Yellow is someone who is fun (Hartman).

I have the characteristics of a Blue person based off of Hartman's personality profile. A Blue is someone who is motivated by intimacy in the way of connecting with others. Blues are known as the "do-gooders" and have to have a purpose for what they are doing. Some characteristics of a Blue that I have are I like to help others, I'm loyal, sincere and thoughful. Blues plan well with a lot of details, are receptive to others and are highly disciplined. Sometimes I set unrealistic goals, get easily depressed or frustrated, expect others to understand me and make me a top priority. I also love to serve others, give freely, I am very self-righteous, and an honest person. A quote that best describes a Blue is: "if you love someone set them free, if they come back they're yours, if not hunt them down and kill them!" Based off of my experience with Hartman's questionnaire I think it is very accurate because I poses many qualities of a Blue.

From the information I've learned from Hartman's personality profile questionnaire is that it helps to understand people's characteristics in  a different way. I now know for every action there is a reason behind it. I know how to interact with people differently because each color of a personality needs to be communicated with in a different way. I know the qualities of each color and I can now try to determine what color a person may be so I will know what they like and do not like. It is useful to know about the different personality types because it could help me understand and connect with a person on a deeper level. I will apply this information to my daily life by knowing that everyone is different and to get anything accomplished with anyone you must know how to interact with them.

Each personality type is associated with a specific color that defines your core motive. No color is better than the other, but every color will define a person as someone different and help you to understand yourself better. By taking Hartman's personality questionnaire you will learn what does work for you as well as what does not work for you. Hartman's questionnaire identifies what you do, why you do it, helps you understand what makes you. Hartman's questionnaire can help any and every one understand their self on deeper level, inspire you to set goals and make changes in their life.
